While I was researching, I came across these fascinating videos demonstrating the clever ways these Hawkmoth caterpillars (Hemeroplanes triptolemus) attempt to avoid predators. When threatened, the caterpillar puffs up its anterior segments and mimics the venomous pit viper snake. It’s truly amazing how these caterpillars disguise themselves and I am so happy I stumbled across this awesome moth species! Here is the Wikipedia page if you want to learn more!😄 Hope you have a wonderful day! God bless!😊
